Peter M. Lotze MD, FACOG, FPMRS
Female Pelvic Medicine and Reconstructive Surgery, Gynecology
Dr. Peter Lotze is an esteemed Urogynecologist who established his pioneering practice in Houston in 2002. As one of the first physicians to receive Board Certification in Female Pelvic Medicine & Reconstructive Surgery in 2013, he has earned a reputation for excellence in the comprehensive evaluation and treatment of female pelvic health and urinary incontinence. His areas of clinical expertise include conditions such as prolapse (e.g., cystocele, rectocele, uterine/vaginal prolapse) and urinary (stress) incontinence, along with irritating bladder symptoms like frequency and urgency. Leveraging advanced diagnostic technologies, including flexible cystoscopy and multichannel urodynamics, Dr. Lotze creates individualized treatment plans that encompass both medical and surgical options, with a focus on minimally invasive techniques like laparoscopic and vaginal approaches.
Building on his extensive experience in urogynecology, Dr. Lotze expanded his practice to include a Wellness Center specializing in Hormone Replacement Therapy (HRT). This expansion was motivated by his realization of the importance of a more holistic approach to health, one that serves both men and women. Upholding a philosophy that places hormone balance as a foundational element of overall well-being, Dr. Lotze complements his medical treatments with educational resources on lifestyle improvements. This integrated approach equips patients to actively engage in their wellness journey, aiming for a higher quality of life.
Until 2017, Dr. Lotze served as the director of the Fellowship Program in Urogynecology at The Women’s Pelvic Restorative Center. He has also been a Clinical Assistant Professor in the Department of Ob/Gyn, Division of Urogynecology, for the University of Texas Health & Science Center – Houston. Dr. Lotze has contributed to numerous publications in the field of Urogynecology and has served as a Board Examiner for the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology.
In leadership roles, Dr. Lotze has previously served as the Chairman of the Department of Surgery at The Woman’s Hospital of Texas and currently leads the Credentialing Committee and Rules/Regulations Committee at Texas Woman’s Hospital. His leadership was instrumental in helping The Woman’s Hospital and the Women’s Pelvic Restorative Center achieve the nation’s first Center of Excellence Designation by the National Association for Continence.
Dr. Peter Lotze has been recognized by Texas Super Doctors® as one of the top physicians in Texas for 2020, 2021, and 2022, in acknowledgment of his significant contributions to the medical field.
